We exist to facilitate relationships between artists, writers, cultural workers, and organizers and to offer these local and regional creators a meeting space for developing their practice and building community. Creators can use Nightjar to gather and to participate in creative activities and discussions outside the boundaries of capitalism. We host open mic nights and readings, teach creative writing classes, serve as an alternative gallery space for local visual artists, help social justice organizations fundraise for various causes, and give organizations a space to meet and deliberate. We welcome marginalized artists from across disciplines who are in search of an environment where they can engage in their creative process, encounter other artists, and work to transform their/our communities.
